Here’s My Heart For You, In Ink

My heart repeats in frantic beats

The words you long to hear,

And yet my mouth remains so shy,

A gate I close in fear.

This love roils up inside of me,

Like a molten sea of gold,

So precious, yet so hard to touch,

Its distant heat seems cold.

I wish I were a singing sort,

With lilting words of praise,

So I could serenade you Love,

Through our remaining days.

But, alas I’m just a poet,

And the only way I know

How to say the words “I love you,”

Is to let my writing flow.

So, I give you this one paper,

As a weak and single link

To the love that burns within me.

Here’s my heart for you, in ink.

Poems For Juliet
These two poems were written in 1998 or 99 as "Lost Poems To Juliet" from Romeo, her love.

My Maiden Fair

My maiden fair, your eyes are like the night,

Two sparkling orbs so clear and filled with light,

Your lips the berry red of sweetened wine,

That beckon kisses with their rosy shine.

Your flowing hair reminds me of the wheat,

Your voice the melody of all that’s sweet.

I long to hold you softly in my arms,

And keep you safe from all the world’s harsh harms.

My Virgin's Song

My only love, my herald of the morn,

You are the sun when heaven’s rays are born.

You are a lily on the quiet waves,

And hold all those who see you heart-sick slaves.

And I am thankful just to know ‘tis I

You gifted with your virgin’s sweetened cry.

To no man shall you ever now belong,

Except to me, for whom you sang your song.

One of my favorites....

To My Dear and Loving Husband

By: Anne Bradstreet

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever
That when we live no more, we may live ever….

This is a Valentine poem from my childhood. Hope you enjoy it!:)

My Valentine

I have a little valentine
That someone sent to me.
It's pink and white and red and blue,
And pretty as can be.
Forget-me-nots are round the edge,
And tiny roses too;
And such a lovely piece of lace-
The very palest blue.
And in the center there's a heart,
As red as red can be!
And on it's written all in gold,
To you with love from me.

~Mary Catherine Parsons~

**I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day!:) **
